From Apostles we have received everything that relates to Christ. (That's why they are called in Ephesians.)
Ephesians: Created in the time of the dislocation and disintegration. Individuals may be his place of residence, lifestyle, religion, gods ... decide them. Like today.
why Ephesians: reflection on foundations. Where is the deepest foundation of my Christian life? What are the responsibilities of it?
Eph aimed at Christians who come from paganism, so to non-Jews. Were previously excluded from the covenants of promise, separated from Christ. - This was also true for the Jews. But they had at least the promise (Abraham) and thus the hope. But the big change came for them only through Christ.
There used enmity between Jews and Gentiles (= all non-Jews), they were separated by the Mosaic law.
Jesus has the two "peoples" (Jews and Gentiles) into one product. = A new eschatological humanity.
The Savior has united the two parts and pacified by having both appointed to a church.
Christ has broken down through His blood / the dividing septum, and from Jews and Gentiles made one people and provide access to the Father.
The Gentiles have
- home right in the city of God
- If the house of God, temples of God.
"The from paganism" are no longer strangers, for the Gentiles are now part of the new (eschatological) community.
New Community is based on:
- the old prophets
- the 12 Apostles

- Temple of the Lord
- inhabited by the Holy Spirit

- members live in the St.. City of God.

This difference is also in the church (denomination).
Paul appeals to people who place within the faith community as a tourist-like mentality of the day, ie at distances between distant Christians. Who distances in the Church lives, inwardly estranged from church who judged only from the outside (sins, scandals), which can never grasp the mystery of the Church.
