Gospel Mt

24.42 to 51 to 1 Corinthians 1
Verse 1: sanctified. Appointed as sacred. Was privilege of ancient Israel (Ex 06.19; 1 Peter 2:9).
church at Corinth = successor of ancient Israel, removed from the pagan world. Immorality of the pagan environmental decline.
communion with all who call on the whole world the name of Jesus. "Everywhere", that is all over the world.
AT: The name of Yahweh. Response Psalm 527.1 GL. That is: We have responsibility for the salvation of the world.
Verse 3: Grace and peace.
What is grace? - Example: Letter from a woman to me: "I do not know what I done to deserve this." No merit, just grace, good will - as the baptismal grace.
grace. Where? From God - through Christ - to us (doxology).
How do we get in grace?
- Christ belong
- In Christ be
- Taufspiritualität
What does the grace?
It is a deposit. Pre-share:
- glory
- kingship
-
resurrection - life in Christ
- Also we carry within us since the baptism.
verse 5 "become rich in him,"
- In speech (language prayer)
- An Erkenntns. What? - Not a brittle material. No esoteric. No philosophy, in order to save himself. But: The testimony of Jesus Christ. A) historical Jesus, b) the risen Christ, God's action, "to consolidate until the end of" The Raising
verse 8th Gifts of God to save us once and for all. But we will grow. Confer power. - If you had long put away from church and was traveling in New Age, then conversion. But after conversion, you always discover new blockages. Then the question: "Listen for the never ..." It is a journey of faith. Objective: Day of the Lord standing there, innocently. On the day of revelation (v. 7).
we can to God's revelation in glory not participate if we do not now in it are - through faith. Power of the gifts that he gives.
verse 9 - 1 "God is faithful." That would be a useful mantra. 2. "Called". Why? To communion with him.
Corinthian Christians lived in a diaspora situation. Jews were currently living outside of Jerusalem, and in this sense and in the diaspora situation. But they still had hope of restoration of the Temple in Jerusalem as a political, national and religious center.
But the Christians in Corinth had no such center. They were supported in efforts to agree on philosophy.
first So Paul has the Christians out of their true city that is now one person, Jesus Christ (5 times)
second And Paul gives a direction and points to a dynamic timeline: "The days of Jesus" (v. 8). The day of his revelation, a celebration) has begun in us, b) completed at a time.
This is our Christian life:
a) God is already at work in us.
B) God expects our cooperation.
The Gospel
two parables, both have a requirement: delay the coming of the Lord himself.
The first parable is about a thief. Perhaps a well-known incident, a burglary, the landlord was surprised. Jesus takes this event as an opportunity to teach a lesson. Namely: people live as they did not expect with his coming. But suddenly he is, as suddenly as a thief.
What is required? Vigilance and fidelity.
The second parable. Knecht has received trust income.
"servant". Jesus told the scribes. Matthew Updated: community leaders. Today: priest.
Jesus announces unexpected test. The loyalty of the leader has to show up then. Eben loyalty and vigilance.
