To Gospel of the Solemnity of Christ the King (Year C)
The Gospel of Christ the King Sunday: an introduction.
Jesus, remember me when you come into your power as king.
The statements about the kingdom of Christ in the Gospels are mainly in childhood and in history of the Passion.
The great words of the angel at the Annunciation to Mary of the Cross seem to be punished for lying.
The Messiah, the King of the Jews from the high titles are mocking words become. On the cross, Jesus appears
without power and without honor, as a defeated man, not as a winner, as an object of ridicule because of his claim brought by him, a king, and now so shamefully ends. The criminals right and left are embodied scorn on the claim of Jesus.
But a criminal who was crucified with him, realizes at this image of the despised and at death's people not only an innocent man who has done nothing wrong, but even a king, to whom he confided, and he recommended: Think of me, when you come into your power as king. Thus, the worshipers in Israel for centuries have called to God.
Jesus accepts the faith of the repentant criminal, and responds as king, has the power with the promise of paradise.
We are sinners called to recognize Christ the King under the image of the crucified him and us with great confidence and Hope to extradite.
We must not stop us our sins, not even with the biggest and worst. We are saved and redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus that He shed for us. And through this undeserved love we are received into the kingdom of God.
